Camp Description
Come join us for a total hockey weekend in our nation's capital!
This camp is going to be a very special one. It will include our
traditional program and normal social activities.
But in addition, we will have 2 bonus activities on Friday. Friday
morning we will have our normal on-ice session at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.
But then we will pack up our gear and head down to the Verizon Center.
That afternoon we will skate at the Verizon Center on the home ice of the
Washington Capitals in front of delirious fans that could exceed 0.1% of
capacity. It will be a Blue vs. White Weekend Warriors scrimmage. After
the game, we will head over to a local downtown establishment, where we will talk about how awesome we were over a beer or two,
and a bite to eat. And then at 7:00 it is back to Verizon Center to
watch the Caps take on the Atlanta Thrashers. Believe it or not, at that
point, the camp will just be halfway over. For a more detailed
schedule, click here.

The Rink
Kettler Capitals Iceplex
in Arlington, VA. This is a brand new, state of the art facility in
Arlington,VA. It is THE Premier arena in the DC area, and is also the
practice facility of the Washington Capitals. The Caps will
be practicing during the days when we are there, as will the Thrashers and
Bruins. Last year we got to watch some of the practices, and some players even obtained autographs for
their kids...or at least that's who they said they were for.
FAQs About
the Scrimmage Skate at the Verizon Center
How will I get my gear from the Kettler rink to the Verizon Center and
back? Leave that to us. We will arrange for a truck to take
your gear from Kettler to the Verizon Center prior to the scrimmage, and
then back to Kettler after the scrimmage. We will lock it up in
locker room for you at Kettler. This will allow you to enjoy some time
in downtown DC after the scrimmage skate, and before the the Caps game.
How will I get myself to and from the Verizon Center? You
can drive yourself, ride the Metro or take a taxi. We will also
coordinate car pools among players who are driving and those who would like
rides.
Can my family and friends come watch? Absolutely. The more
the merrier.
When and where do we enter the Verizon Center? As the camp
date approaches, we will let you know the entrance to use, as well as what
time to get there. Players and their adoring spectators will enter at
the same location.
FAQs About Tickets to
Caps/Thrashers Game
Where are the seats? The camp fee includes a ticket in
section 429, which is on the corner in the upper section.
For a seating chart of the Verizon Center, go to:
http://capitals.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NHLPage&id=8860
Can I get additional tickets to bring friends or family to the game?
Unlike last year, there will not be an opportunity to upgrade seats,
nor will players be able to purchase extra tickets. With the success
of the Caps, the tickets are simply no longer available.
I already have tickets to the game. Can I get a discount off the
camp price? No, because the reason we are able to skate at the
Verizon Center during the afternoon is because we are buying a block of
tickets from the Caps. So think of your ticket as admission to the
Verizon Center twice, once during the afternoon to skate and once at night
to watch the game. However, with the demand for tickets projected to
be high, there will almost certainly be someone at the camp who would love
to buy your ticket off of you.
